The warmest jacket in our lineup, the N-3B was originally issued in the 1950s as the answer to ultra-cold, windy environments some U.S. Flight Crews faced. Also known as the Snorkel parka, because the hood zips past the nose, leaving only the eyes exposed (much like how a snorkel would). A 3/4 length parka, the N-3B features four external pockets that close with snaps - two handwarmer pockets on the chest, and two flap pockets down at the waist.

The N-3 range of parkas is a very successful line of cold weather gear from the U.S. Army. From that line comes the N-3B, informally known as the Snorkel Parka due to the hood leaving a small snorkel hole for looking out when zipped fully up. Intended for use by aircrew members in extremely cold conditions and has seen use in Antarctica. This recreation of the N-3B parka stays true to the later military designs, with its water repellent nylon shell, lining and synthetic fur hood.
