In 2022, 40 years since the Air Force 1 was introduced, a culmination of the rich history of the silhouette was realized with the introduction of the Louis Vuitton x Nike “Air Force 1” by Virgil Abloh. Released posthumously, Alboh’s work seamlessly connected the decades of prominence of Nike’s famed sneaker. In total, Virgil Abloh designed 47 bespoke pairs of the Nike “Air Force 1” for the Louis Vuitton Spring-Summer 2022 show in collaboration with Nike.

The iconic LV Trainer sneaker is revisited this season in a combination of Monogram denim and Monogram-embossed grained calf leather. The contrasting colors and materials highlight the elaborate construction of this model, which was inspired by vintage basketball sneakers. A single pair takes seven hours to stitch.

This first eco-designed version of the lv trainer sneaker is made with 90% sustainable materials, including recycled polyester and bio-based materials for the upper, and recycled polyurethane for the outsole. The lv upcycling logo is used as a print on the upper, which is also signed with the lv initials in recycled polyurethane. This iconic model was designed by virgil abloh, who drew inspiration from vintage basketball sneakers.
