Ready for round 5 in Portimao, Portugal.

02.06.2012 It is time for racing again, and this time I am racing in Portugal. The fifth round in the Auto GP World Series is located in Portimao, Portugal, on the Algarve coast in Portimao. The place is beautiful. I have been here since Monday to get used to the environment Portugal is a beautiful country, especially here on the the southern part of the country. And the few days I have spent here, it seems like a great place to be. The Portimao race circuit is very good. It is a good circuit, and a very exciting circuit. It has good places to overtake, and is a unique circuit with many blind spots, with corners where you have little sight and have to push your guts to go fast. Some of the corners can be compared to a rollercoaster in the way, where you can’t see what’s on the other side of the corner. The circuit is challenging and good built, and has good overtaking areas. So it is an awesome circuit in my opinion. Challenging, well built for competition, and an exciting circuit. I started testing on Thursday. The weather has been nice and warm so far. My testing resulted in P2, where I felt I had much to give. On Friday I got a P1, first position, on practice 1. On practice 2 I got a P2, very close to P1, but I felt I had more to give to get a P1. On the qualifying on Friday I got a P5. I had to abandon the qualifying due to some fuel pump issues. I am confident with my cars’ setup and my pace. A P5 on qualifying is a good result, and with the pace and good car I have, I think Race 1 is going to be exciting. Much can happen; a lot depends on what happens in the race and our strategy we use. I am looking forward to race.
