-Pål did a great job

09.12.2010 -Pål Varhaug did a great job at the GP2-test in Abu Dhabi, Loic David, team manager in DAMS says. -Pål impressed us. Normally a rookie is 1,5 second behind the best guys the first day, but Pål was just a second behind Sam Bird. That’s very good. You can read more from the DAMS-team in todays newspapers VG and Stavanger Aftenblad. The second test day in Abu Dhabi was even better for the 19 year old Norwegian. He was just six tenths behind Romain Grosjean, and faster than drivers like Sam Bird, Karun Chandhok and Esteban Guttierez. Now Pål is hoping to race for DAMS in the GP2 Asia Series and the GP2 Series next season. -I’m working with the funding, but it’s not easy. I need a lot of money, and as a motorsport athlete you don’t have the same kind of support from the government like for example a skier here in Norway. But I’m optimistic, and I have a lot of local support, Pål Varhaug explains. Pål Varhaug is closer to Formula 1 than any other Norwegian, and he hopes businesses in Norway will support him to make history, and become the first Norwegian ever in Formula 1!
