Back in business!
It is official! I am going to drive in the GP3 series 2014 season!
In 2013 I ended the season in GP2 after two races, and things looked dark for my career the rest of 2013. In winter I have been negotiating several offers for teams in different series, and in the last months I have concluded that the best deal for me is to drive the GP3 series for Jenzer Motorsport.
I have a history with Jenzer! I have been driving Formula Renault 2.0, Formula Master and the first season in GP3 history with Jenzer Motorsport with great success. They know me, I know them, and we already have a good communication. They know my style and when I perform best, so I think this will be a great advantage for us. GP3, like GP2, has very little testing, so there is an advantage for the team to have this history with me, so it can be easier for the team to set up the car with very limited data.
Going back to GP3 is awesome! I’m going back to the Formula 1 circus, competing with the top notch drivers of the world, in the eyes of formula 1 teams and the world.
GP3 is considered the 3
rd hardest and toughest and most prestigious racing series to drive in the world, behind GP2 and Formula 1, so I feel very blessed with this great opportunity!
I definitively don’t look at it as a step back, from my 2011 GP2 season and 2013 GP2 races, I look at this opportunity as a blessing and a great step forward! GP3 is VERY prestigious and it is not as expensive as GP2, which means more equal competing between teams and drivers, more fair racing. This is definitively a great step in the right direction! I am VERY motivated!
I am going to drive both a new car and race at some new circuits this season. Especially the new car will be a challenge for all the teams and drivers, but I am known to be a very quick learner, so I am looking forward for an exciting season with good racing and lots of fun!
The new circuits for the season where I haven’t races before are Red Bull Ring in Austria and Sochi International Street Circuit in Russia. And my first race will be Circuit de Catalunya (Barcelona) in Spain next weekend 9-11 May. I am really looking forward to it!
The races will be broadcasted in Norway on Viasat Motor!
