-A very good test

-This was a very good test for me, Pål Varhaug says after two days in his DAMS GP2 car at Silverstone in UK.
The first day started with rain, and it was Pål’s first proper laps on rain in the GP2 car. To drive such a fast car in the rain is not easy, but Pål did his job and did no mistakes. He was as high as P7 on time on worn tyres.
-The plan was then to go out when the track was dry with slicks, but then the session got red flagged, Pål says.
The second day it was dry, and Pål was amazed by the speed with the GP2 car at Silverstone.
-The car is so fast! It’s just awesome to drive some of the corners and a lot of fun.
Pål ran as high as P5 at one moment, and was on his way to his best lap of the day when he did a mistake in the last corner. But he ended P13, and the team was very happy.
-The progression was good, and P13 is as good as I can expect so early in my GP2 career. But I could have had a better laptime and maybe ended up at P5, but it’s not that important. It was just a test. I have also been sick these days, so it has been a bit difficult to concentrate, but all in all I’m very satisfied.
Next up is a test in Barcelona April 19 and 20.
